ABOUT CLOTHES BOX FOUNDATION

Ans: We work to distribute usable old clothes among the poor residing in the most inaccessible terrains of the country. At Refresh, we recycle and upcycle waste fabrics into requisite household products. Through our skill-development program, we train rural women to make them self-reliant. The training helps them to become confident and responsible individuals.

Ans: With numerous deaths caused due to weather-related illness every year, our motive is to enhance the survival chance of the underprivileged by fulfilling their basic necessity of clothing. Through our upcycling initiative – Refresh – we aim to empower the poor to improve their living standards and help them achieve a fundamental level of financial independence.

Ans: Yes, Clothes Box Foundation is a trust registered with Sub Registrar, Gurgaon at Sr. No.742 dated Book No. 1, Binder No. 13072 under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882. Clothes Box Foundation is also approved for tax exemptions u/s 12AA of Income Tax Act, 1961. All donations are exempted under 80G of the I.T. Act 1961.

OUR WORK PROCESSES

Ans: Our process consists of these four major steps:

Collect – Process – Distribute – Connect

We have a separate reporting Team at Clothes Box Foundation where we collect all the feedback and other inputs of the distribution drive. Details such as the place of distribution, quantities distributed, community details, and further necessary details are also reported. One of the significant points in our policies is the compulsory sharing of pictures of the distribution drives conducted by our partners. The process and standards of picture collection are also defined in our Memorandum of Understanding signed with the other party.

Ans: Clothes Box Foundation has been actively involved in various other initiatives. Be it ‘The Joy of giving week’ to providing relief materials in case of natural disasters or national emergencies like COVID- 19, Clothes Box Foundation goes the extra mile. During such times, we are also involved in the disbursement of rations and other essentials. Besides this, one of the ongoing projects of the Clothes Box Foundation projects ‘REFRESH’. Refresh promotes recycling & upcycling of waste fabric and makes sustainable products made out of them. This visionary project aims to address the environmental concerns and the empowerment of SHGS and, particularly, women. For more details, check the given link – https://www.clothesboxfoundation.org/refresh.

Along with this, we have also partnered with various grassroots level NGOs along with locals/ individual volunteers. One such example where we did not let the geographical barriers come into our way is the flagship project – ‘TOGETHER WITH GUREZ,’ which was executed with the support of the ‘Indian Army.’ We aim to cover every nook and corner across the length and breadth of the country. Clothes Box Foundation carries distribution drives in urban, suburban slums along with rural areas.

OUR PARTNERSHIPS AND ALLIANCES

Ans: At Clothes Box Foundation we have a research department which studies the NGO and its work before collaboration. The research is carried out in two phases. First, a preliminary research is done by collating the details from the websites (if any) or any other social media platforms. The second stage of the research, which is also an extensive stage involves checking the necessary documents of the NGO and the representatives. Once an NGO passes both the stages then an MOU is signed between the NGO and Clothes Box Foundation.
