Due to my husband’s anger issues, I had been a victim of domestic violence. The situation worsened when lockdown restricted everyone at home. The abuse was the order of the day when he did not go to work. I prayed every day for a place to distance me from him, even if temporarily. I enrolled myself immediately when I learned about Refresh, though against my husband’s will. When I sought help at the training center, sir was kind enough to reimburse me every week as my husband did not support me financially. Now, I’m able to take care of my own basic needs. Besides making blankets, I’ve also started taking neighbors’ orders for blouses, suit stitching, etc. It has made me confident. After my training, I hope to be skilled enough to secure a job, fulfill my dreams, and create a future for myself.
